Witnessing Nico begging for drug money in CBGB. Getting told off by Johnny "Rotten" Lydon. Having a punk club owner spell her name in cocaine. Spending three weeks in a cramped one-room apartment with the infamous Dead Boys, and surviving to tell the tale.
These are just some of the many outrageous experiences that Alissa Wolf had during her immersion into the seamy world of punk rock in the late 1970s, while she was attending New York University.
These experiences prepared her well for her future profession as an entertainment reporter, during which she met and wrote about some of the most famous stars of TV, film and the music industry.
As a master storyteller, Alissa Wolf has written a memoir chock full of intimate, detailed anecdotes about the punk rock industry particularly, and the world of entertainment in general, from a uniquely personal perspective. You won't be able to put it down!

Miss Wolf effortlessly weaves the best of both the punk rock era and mainstream entertainment of the 70s and 80s in an impartial, yet affectionate manner. Her book is loaded with amusing anecdotes about her encounters with some of the more notorious punk rock musicians. Many of these situations range from hilarious to hair-raising.
Miss Wolf is an expressive writer who describes situations very well. You can easily picture her going through all the drama. I truly enjoyed her writing. Bravo Miss Wolf on your premiere book offering!

Punk Rock Princess eBook Alissa Wolf Reviews
Pure trash. A high school kid could write better.
Seriously, don't wast your time on this nonsense. I was given this as a gift. Even though I paid nothing for it I still want a refund.
Punk Rock Princess is a well-written, short and quick read. I thought it could have been longer, but I appreciate Ms. Wolf’s discretion as well. Those who lived during the heyday of punk will be happy to reminisce and for those who didn’t, it will be a happy discovery!
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Can’t help but think this title would have been great for an outside-the-box romance novel, but thankfully it’s not that. Instead it’s an autobiography of a clean-cut suburban gal who turns her love of punk rock into a journalism career, chronicling her college years and how she met so many now-famous musicians, and the interviews she did for publications after that.
If you have a picture in your head of how a punk fan looks like, brain-scrub it, because the photos in this book are completely opposite of what you’d expect. It’s actually a bit hard to believe this teen was in the clubs headbanging and such, and later went face to face with some of the biggest egomaniac jerks in the music world, but that just makes it all the better. The stories are fascinating, especially when you find a musician you’re familiar with whom she describes as a nice guy, contrary to their reputation.

This book is so entertaining! Ms. Wolf tells her story and it is sarcastic, hilarious, nostalgic, sad and hopeful. As a music and entertainment journalist, she shares her personal experiences in the industry. She doesn't hold back on name-dropping either. I recommend it to anyone who grew up with rock, disco and punk as the soundtrak of their life - you'll enjoy it.
This book made me smile. It brought me back to my days of chasing rock stars and wanting to be a hair metal princess. I loved it. I think I finished it in less than 24 hours. Also, found out some things about bands I love that I didn't know! I recommended it to all my friends.
